Visitors
Welcome
If you are a visitor or thinking of coming for the first time, you will be very welcome, whether or not you consider yourself to be a Christian. Please contact us if you need more information about anything.
When and where do we meet?
We meet together for worship each Sunday morning at 10:30am at Gillingham Primary School, School Road, Gillingham, Dorset SP8 4QR. The meeting usually finishes around midday when Fairtrade refreshments are available.
As well as Sunday mornings there are other small group meetings and social activities that take place during the week.
Please see the map of where we meet.
Accessibility
The school where we meet is wheelchair-accessible and we can provide large-print versions of the words to the songs, if required. If you have any special needs, please contact us.
What to expect
We hope you will feel comfortable with our relaxed style of meeting. If you require some information or are unsure about anything, please feel free to ask any of us on the day or contact us in advance.
There is a crèche for children up to four years of age, which is staffed each week from 11.00am.
The Sunday school caters for children aged five and over. A notice on the screen will announce when it is time for them to leave the meeting.
We have a child protection policy and all of our helpers have had police CRB checks. Parents are welcome to observe and join in with their children in the crèche and the Sunday school.
See the young people section for more details.
Thinking of moving to the area?
Let us know and we will be happy to provide you with information about the area.
We have a Welcome to Gillingham pack for people who are new to the town, which you are welcome to download.
You will find some useful local information on www.UpMyStreet.com and www.gcci.org.uk.
Policies
Child safety: There is always at least one person with each children's group that has had a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check done. We have a child protection policy in place: forms are available from Sheila Sansom, who co-ordinates CRB checks.
Vulnerable people (including children): Our aim is that all those who work with vulnerable people will be CRB-checked.
