You Were There
When I first came to Jesus,
You were There.
When my old world needed leaving,
You were There.
When a real, true friend was needed,
And my old life had receded,
If my hope became impeded,
You were There.
It will never be forgotten,
You were There.
Though we're not together often,
You were There.
Sister, friend you'll always be,
You were still and strong for me,
In the dark you helped me see,
The Lord was There.
