My Favourite Colour
Blue's my favourite colour
No actually it's green
Perhaps it's yellow
Maybe mauve
It could be tangerine.
No actually it's purple
On second thoughts it's red
So many colours swirling round
Now which was it I said ?
How about the blue of sunset before night ?
How about a yellow sun that flame red sets alight ?
How about the purple-black of night like velveteen ?
How about the rainbow flecks that splash a white snow scene ?
The more I look the more I see
To fill gaps in between.
The more I see the more I know
How very blessed we've been.
