Our Beliefs
For those who are interested, we have a leaflet, which states our basic beliefs in even more detail.
God
There is one true God, consisting of three equal persons who are distinct in personality and function; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The Father
The Father is the creator and sustainer of everything, including heaven and the earth.
Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God who became human, though he remained fully God. He died for our sins, rose from the dead and will return again to judge the world.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit lives in every Christian and is the source of assurance, strength, understanding and guidance.
Human beings
Each person is unique, originally created in the image of God to enjoy a relationship with him, but our sin separates us from God.
Good News
Anyone, who turns away from their sin and, by faith, receives Jesus as their Saviour and Lord of their lives, is born-again and becomes an adopted child of God
Reaching out
The role of the church is to seek ways to inform people about Jesus’ sacrifice for them and what it means to be born-again.
Doing good
As a result of being born-again, the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives leads us to do good works and to serve others
The Bible
The Bible is complete and inspired by God. It is God’s written revelation about himself and the Good News about being born-again.
The Lord’s Supper
We celebrate the Lord's Supper regularly, remembering the death of Jesus in an attitude of faith and self-examination.
Baptism
Baptism of born-again Christians by complete immersion in water is a public identification with Jesus’ death, burial and rising from the dead.
Prayer
The primary purpose of prayer is that we may get to know God himself and that the life of God may be nourished in us as individuals and together.
Worship
Bringing glory to God is the main purpose in life for born-again Christians. In worship we focus on God and not ourselves.
Church
There is one universal church to which all born-again Christians belong. The local church is an assembly of born-again Christians in a particular location.
