What We Believe
What does it mean to me?
Individuals have many differing needs. The best way to answer this question is for us to communicate what we do and why we do it so that you can decide what it means to you.
So…what do we aim to do?
- Express the love of God to individuals in the community and to those within the church
- Provide personal friendship, support and help to those in need
- Be involved in the community in a relevant way
- Seek to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Make the Christian message understandable to all through regular Journeys and Alpha courses, teaching during Sunday meetings and in other formats
And why are we doing this?
In the Bible Jesus tells the well-known story of the good Samaritan — he helped a man he'd never met before. Our neighbour is whoever we meet in need. We aim to express a love that is very real to us: the love of God.

| We matter to God. He made us to have a relationship with us. |
But we have rebelled against God, we have all disobeyed Him, our sins have separated us from Him and broken off the relationship… …this was not how God wanted it to be. |

| People try many things: giving to charity going to church doing kind things but our own efforts cannot put us right with God… …we cannot earn it. |
Furthermore, the sins we have committed have to be punished and that punishment is death. |

| But God is the master bridge-builder and He built the bridge. How? God loves us so much he sent his only son to die for us (John 3:16). Jesus paid the penalty we should have paid. |
Jesus made the way for us to be put right with God — through him and him alone we can acknowledge our sin, seek forgiveness and make him the boss of our lives. We then cross the bridge into right relationship with God. |
The question is — in picture 6 where are you?
If you want to talk to us about where you are, or have any questions, do tell us — we'd love to hear from you.
