China
Dot, who visits China each year, explains about the work going on there:
"Did you know that there are 1.2 billion Chinese living in China? One fifth of the world's population no less. Of these approximately 60–100 million are born again Christians, and it is estimated that up to 25,000 make a commitment to Jesus Christ every day.
One more question. What is the book we need after making this commitment in order for us to grow and mature as Christians? The answer of course is the Bible. Can you imagine how much your Christian life would suffer if you weren't able to get hold of this word of truth? Sadly this is still the situation with many thousands of Chinese Christians even today.
Every year for the past eleven I have had the privilege to work for a month as a "donkey for Jesus". That is, I join teams of people from many different countries whose purpose is to take the precious word of God into different areas of China to the believers. False teaching and evil cults are growing at an alarming rate in China, so the believers without a bible, and with a weak foundation can, and have, become lured into these cults, snatched away by false prophets.
To counterattack this we take in study Bibles for pastors and teachers, and other discipling tools. This work has taken me to many different provinces over the years. Sometimes too, I have had the opportunity to meet and interact with the underground believers. To have this fellowship with my Chinese brothers and sisters has been very humbling as they radiate joy and quiet humility. I feel honoured to serve the Chinese church in this small way and pray that God will grant me good health into my old age so that I can continue to do this work."
